Practice Staff
The doctors listed on the home page are supported by a variety of other
health professionals and administrative staff. They are:
Practice Manager
Gaynor Walters is the practice manager and is responsible for the overall management of the practice.
She would be more than happy to meet with patients and hear your views and suggestions about any aspect of the services provided.
Reception And Administrative Staff
Our experienced and dedicated team of reception and clerical staff deal
with requests and enquiries as efficiently as possible, whilst respecting patient
confidentiality at all times.
Practice Nurses
Our practice nurses are available in the surgery during normal working hours offering treatment and advice on a wide range of health care issues.
Please feel free to discuss health promotion with them by making an appointment at reception.
District Nurses
Our district nursing team provide assessment of needs and appropriate skilled nursing care to the housebound.
They can be contacted at the surgery daily and are available on 01792 895770 which is supported by a telephone answering service.
Health Visitors
Our health visitors are involved in promoting health within the community. They are skilled in offering health and social advice on a wide range of health matters for children below five years.

Chronic Disease Nurse
We have a chronic disease nurse attached to the practice. Her role is to provide support to patients with the aim of improving on the managements of all long-term chronic conditions, and to avoid a crisis situation which may lead to hospital admission.

Counsellor
We have a part-time counsellor who sees patients for short-term counselling.

consultation with a GP.
General Practitioner Training
We are committed to the process of training doctors to become general practitioners and we have doctors attached to the practice, usually for a period of one year, to learn under the supervision of all the partners.
The doctors attached for training are fully qualified doctors and have normally worked in hospitals for at least three years.
As part of their training you may be asked if your consultation with a training doctor can be recorded on video.
This request is optional and if you would prefer not to have your consultation recorded, or not to have an observer present, please inform the receptionist.
Practice Staff Training
Every two months, usually on a Thursday afternoon the practice closes
for an afternoon in order to participate in a Protected Learning Time sessions
which is supported by our local health board. These sessions provide valuable
training to all members of practice staff. The Swansea Out-Of-Hours service provides
medical cover during these times and recorded messages on our surgery line provides
you with contact details.
Zero Tolerance
Princess Street Surgery operates a zero tolerance policy.
This means that the partners will not tolerate any threatening, violent or abusive behaviour towards any member of the practice staff or other persons on the practice premises.
Patients who behave in this manner will be removed from the practice list.
